Most visitors to Jaisalmer spend a day in the Golden City and then head west to the dunes. A desert camp lets you stay out there overnight, so you can catch the sunset without rushing, enjoy an evening of music and food, and wake up to the quiet of the Thar.
At The Desert Mafia Resort & Camp you get the desert setting and the evening programme of a traditional camp, but you sleep in a built sandstone cottage with an attached bathroom rather than a canvas tent. That means better insulation on cold winter nights, more privacy, and a calmer night's sleep.
The resort is on the Jaisalmer–Sam–Dhanana Road at Sam, close to the dunes used for camel and jeep safaris.

From sunset on the dunes to music by the fire
The afternoon belongs to the dunes. Ride out on a camel safari for a slow, quiet crossing, or take a jeep safari for something faster. Most guests time their ride to reach the ridges for sunset.
Back at the resort, evenings centre on the courtyard: Rajasthani folk music and dance, a bonfire on cool nights, and dinner from the on-site restaurant. Couples and families can also request a dinner on the dunes. Later, walk away from the lights for some stargazing.

Guests stay in built cottages rather than canvas tents. There are two categories, The Mafia AC Cottage and The Desert Cottage, both with attached bathrooms.
